Midsize independent agency is looking for an Account Director well versed in common sense FMCG / Consumer Goods brand strategy to join them at an exciting time.
This established agency has a mixture of wise heads and young guns on its staff and punches well above its weight. It’s on some major FMCG rosters and is renowned for their beautiful and award winning design work. Packaging design is a major part of their work but they also work upstream on innovation and strategy lead projects. They love working with indulgent brands like chocolate and they adore health and beauty brands. Lovely blend of clients, start ups as well as major corporates.

The agency is increasingly writing opinion pieces and being asked by clients to help them innovate – new products and new takes on packaging design. They are looking for an Account Director with a very strong leaning towards FMCG Brand Strategy – not someone who likes to be buried in research and insight but rather someone who understands the markets and relevant categories and can intelligently work alongside a seniro Strategist with clients to challenge design convention and test ideas together with.
Professional experience
- Must have a background in packaging
- Be able to hold high level discussions with senior clients
- Thrive on developing client relationships and be able to seek out and convert opportunities with existing clients
- Absolutely love design and have a keen interest in brands
- Understand when and how to bring in / implement strategy direction, be able to discuss this with clients in an informed and confident manner
- Thorough understanding of the financial aspect of projects, implications and opportunities to improve profitability
- Mentor and guide 3 members of the Client Services team
- Proactively support the Client Services Director
In essence we are looking for a very well rounded person, a natural communicator with clients, capable of understanding and challenging design convention and writing exciting briefs for the designers to springboard from.
You should have a background in working with FMCG brands from a design and brand perspective. Probably you are an Account Director who really gets strategy and that is part of your job role at the moment or you may be a mid weight strategist with exceptional client handling skills.
